We’ve a Guest Blog today from Sam Gillett from the Media Trust, and how an event they’re running could support your charity or community organisation to communicate more effectively:
Communications charity Media Trust is running a free volunteer event at BBC Glasgow on the 4th October called Speedmatching. These events are a great opportunity to network with other media professionals but also to meet with local charities and volunteer groups.
Speedmatching works in a similar way to speed dating. Ten voluntary organisations each get five minute slots to talk with ten different media advisers. Our professionals have 5 minutes to speak to the charity representatives to see if they may be interested in supporting them. It runs from 5.45pm – 7.30pm and has a very relaxed atmosphere with wine; refreshments and nibbles provided for.
Charities come to Media Trust looking for different kinds of media support, ranging from PR to marketing support; social media and web support; film and radio; advertising and design and any form of media and communications. What Media Trust does is to use the skills that professionals have to help a struggling charity sector with advice and skills that they don’t have. We are looking for professionals with wide ranging skills, who are looking to support small local groups.
If you are interested please email mediamatching@mediatrust.org or ring 020 7871 5658.
