Your burning questions

October 1, 2012

Every month our Information and Outreach Team can receive up to 700 enquiries from both new and existing customers. With our team on hand to offer advice and support to applicants before they apply the queries are diverse and cover all of BIG’s funding programmes in Scotland.

Here we answer three of the most recent burning questions.

How do we check if our project’s postcode is eligible for Community Spaces Scotland?

This is on our eligibility checker on our website. The full postcode should be entered. After clicking ‘Check’, you will get a note below this if it is eligible or not.

If your postcode is not eligible, there is more guidance under ‘How do I get started?’ on the ‘Apply’ section.

Please note Community Spaces Scotland closes for applications on 7 December 2012.

Is the maximum grant for land/building projects through Awards for All £10,000 or £75,000?

It is £10,000. Indeed, £10,000 is the maximum no matter what type of project you apply for.

For land or building projects, the total project cost cannot be more than £75,000 including VAT. This means you can apply for up to £10,000 as long as the overall total is no more than £75,000 (including VAT). Our factsheet has more information on this.

We were unsuccessful in applying to Investing in Communities. How soon can we reapply?

There are no time restrictions in reapplying. Nonetheless, we do strongly recommend addressing the reason/s an application was unsuccessful before reapplying.

Remember, if you have a burning question about our funding you can go to Ask BIG where we give you the answers to the most commonly asked questions.

Alternatively if you can’t find your answer at Ask BIG you can email us on enquiries.scotland@biglotteryfund.org.uk
