In this guest blog post Lauren Pluss, Community Manager at SCVO, tells us how charities can set up and optimise their free online presence on Good HQ…
Do you want to:
Reach more people?
Demonstrate the impact of your work?
Encourage people to volunteer for your cause?
Of course you do!
Good HQ is the perfect place to achieve each of these goals. It’s a digital platform from SCVO that provides a space for organisations to demonstrate their impact, and for members of the public to share their experiences. It’s the new hub of information for third sector organisations in Scotland.
There are lots of reasons to sign up to Good HQ – here’s some of the best:
Let the people who know you best share their experience!
The first-hand experiences of people who have used your service speak volumes for the work that you do. Who better to tell your organisation’s story that those who have been impacted by it? Hundreds of people have already shared their stories about the causes they support. Now you can encourage your supporters and service users to share their stories too!
Encourage people to get involved
Use your profile to promote all the different ways to get involved with your organisation. Whether that’s through volunteering, job opportunities (from Goodmoves) or making a donation, it’s a great way to get people engaged with the work of your good cause.
Demonstrate your impact
By gathering reviews and using posts to share case studies, you can easily demonstrate your impact to potential supporters, volunteers and funders. Plus the great thing is that the content is sharable across other social media platforms, making it easy for you to spread the word!
Improve your services
Collecting feedback allows you to know what you’re doing well and what you might be able to do better to improve your services. Good HQ provides a great, transparent platform to let you do this.
Create a hub of information for your good cause
As well as reviews, posts, a donate button, job and volunteer opportunities, Good HQ also links to your website, social media accounts and OSCR records. It becomes a hub of information about your charity, so people can easily find out more and can get involved. And if you don’t have a website yet, then Good HQ is a great place to keep the essential information people need to find out about what you do!
How do I get involved?
Each registered charity in Scotland has a basic profile on Good HQ. To find yours, just head to the sign up form, search using your charity number and complete the details. We’ll then verify your account and you’ll be all set to go!
If you’re not a registered charity, don’t worry! All third sector organisations are welcome to join quickly and easily through our sign up page.
So, what are you waiting for? Head over to Good HQ and add your organisation to the hundreds of others who are collecting feedback, demonstrating their impact and encouraging new people to get involved.
